Grammer is looking for a Regional Commodity Manager - Plastics, Resins and Chemicals to join our Supply Chain Management team at our Queretaro, MX location. The ideal candidate must enjoy working in a team environment. This individual will have an opportunity to make lasting and positive changes in our Americas SCM Team!
Act as the Management interface between the Director Global Commodity and the Commodity Buyers. Leads the Commodity’s Buyers across the regions and ensures the execution of existing Global Supplier Contracts, manages resources, prepares project initiatives tracks the Commodity’s KPIs and interacts with Global Purchasing Controlling, Global Supplier Quality Management and other involved Co-functions.
What you will be doing for assigned commodities
* Act as the Management interface between the Director of Commodity Strategy and the Commodity Buyers.
* Lead by example; Follow and make sure that the assigned commodity buyers follows the Grammer CODE and compliance rules
* To manage and optimize the assigned purchasing organization
* Leads the Commodity Buyers to ensure the execution of existing Supplier Contracts, manages resources, constantly monitor all relevant KPI´s on the achievement of targets, gap to target, actions to close the gap
* Understand the Plastics, Resin, and Chemicals market and supplier base thoroughly while working closely with engineering to influence decisions to meet technical capabilities and cost
* Monitor RFQs for new sourcing projects and award business at or below target cost and sourced on time
* Responsible for strategic and tactical steering of the purchasing volume in the assigned commodity
* Develop and lead the implementation of a comprehensive commodity strategy including action plans (road maps) in line with overall business objectives
* Develop robust supplier panel that will meet (exceed) Grammer business objectives including price, program management, quality, and supply chain performance
* Develop high level relationships to ensure strategic partnerships with our suppliers
* Responsible for supplier contract management starting from new supplier introduction to supplier exit compiling supply market intelligence, identifying purchasing risks, opportunities and ensuring data transparency
* Represent the commodity with all internal and supplier stakeholders
* Lead annual savings negotiations to continually drive savings initiatives in order to (over-)achieve the budget saving / ppv target
* Instrumental in developing budget, forecasting savings and reconciling savings
* Ensure the best price on a global supply market for all products in commodity
* Support development and implementation of VA/VE savings ideas in collaboration with internal key stake holders
* Ensure implementation of regional purchasing initiatives (e.g., processes & procedures, IT tools, etc.)
* Ensure of periodic benchmarking of supply base to ensure competitive market pricing; Execute negotiation or resourcing depending on market analysis
* Collaborate and support Supplier Quality meet (exceed) performance targets (i.e. PPM/IBM)
* Present supplier innovations and ensure implementation if technically and commercially feasible
What you will bring along:
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related Business degree
* 7+ years of experience with a Global Purchasing or Supply Chain Management team
* Demonstrated experience in Purchasing Management, with an emphasis in plastics, resin and chemicals
* Strong collaborative leader and team coach
* Data driven individual with a focus on KPI execution
* Effective analytical and problem solving skills
* Detailed oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Track record of leading savings initiative through negotiation
* Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Word experience required, including the ability to create and manage advanced spreadsheets
* Knowledge of Project Management and Supplier Quality Procedures
* Experience with SAP preferred
* Knowledge in all aspects of cost and cost breakdowns
* Experience working with large diverse teams functioning in a global matrix operating environment
