Internship Overview:

The purpose of the Grammer Americas Internship Program is to develop the leaders of tomorrow, innovators with the drive to make a positive impact in a rapidly changing world, and build the confidence needed to enter into a full-time career upon graduation.

Grammer Interns have the opportunity to work on projects that provide valuable real-world experiences and development. Through these projects, interns will have a measurable impact on the business and be mentored, coached, and work side by side with experienced Grammer leaders.

Your experience will be customized based on your developmental goals and no two roles will be the same. At Grammer, we recognize that every person brings something unique to the table and we intend to provide opportunities to maximize on those unique goals and skillsets.

The internship will conclude with a formal presentation where students will present their success stories to the leaders of the organization and receive feedback on their performance.

What we are looking for:

Grammer is looking for a full-time, onsite MP&L Intern to join our team at our MP&L team in Fayetteville, TN. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a team environment, have the drive to create positive change, and the desire to learn and gain valuable industry experience.

This individual will have an opportunity to make lasting and positive changes in our MP&L team and Grammer as a whole!

What you will be doing:

  • Hands on and project based work supporting Grammer business goals
  • Drive improvements in various MP&L programs and processes
  • Develop understanding of logistics and inventory management
  • Provide a "fresh eyes" approach while working with the MP&L team on developing and implementing processes that will drive continuous improvements to inventory management, warehouse improvements, logistics, cost reduction, 5S, and more.
  • Enhance problem-solving skills through interaction with team members and cross-functional collaborations.
  • Exposure and partnership on 5S projects
  • Creating and summarizing alternative packaging
  • Developing work instructions
  • Develop ability to work in a cross-functional team, including Quality, Production, Purchasing, HR, Engineering, Operations, and potentially external customers.
  • Develop understanding of Tier 1 Automotive and Commercial Vehicle manufacturing, lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, Kaizen principles, and more.
  • Complete an internship project and present it to leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Other duties assigned as needed

What you will bring along:

  • Currently working on completion of a Bachelors or Masters degree in a related field
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship now and in the future
  • Desire to gain experience in MP&L of a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Detail oriented and analytical mindset
  • Desire to learn, develop skillsets, and be mentored
  • Comfortable with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
