What we are looking for:

Grammer is looking for a Global Key Account Director to join our location in Troy, MI. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a team environment. This individual will have an opportunity to make lasting and positive changes in our team!

Position Summary

The Global Key Account Director will function as the primary sales account management within the assigned customers (EVs, EMEA & Asia OEMs). This position applies engineering discipline to a sales/liaison function to provide consultative selling in highly engineered environments. The role will interface with the GRAMMER customer base, extensive and diversified knowledge of products and solutions will need to be employed to help create value, as well as, managing the revenue and margin targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer focus:  EVs; EMEA; Asia OEMs
  • Global Leader for Key Customers across all regions
  • Establish / Lead network of all regional Sales team members
  • Monthly network meeting / information exchange/ best practice sharing
  • Coordinate any kind of global activities of the Key Account
  • Coordinate global acquisitions
  • Coordinates global claim/overdue negotiations
  • Coordinate administrative / cross-functional topics / customer communication (group level)
  • Establish global Key Account Strategy - CDP (Customer Development Plan) aligned with regional/divisional strategies
  • Prepare and support C-Level presentations /Executive meetings 

Additional Tasks

  • Define sales targets of the region/division and derivate relevant measures for a strategic further development of the region/division                 
  • Identify business possibilities and working out market access strategies for the international target market and target customer. Considering concerns of subsidiary divisions for expanding the international customer relationship including new customer acquisitions -coordination of a joint, unified, approach/ strategy
  • Development and realization of sales planning/business plan of the division to fulfill defined revenue-, sales-, and profit targets of several customers (profitable growth) in the regions and at customers
  • Market- and competitive analysis as well as participation in making decisions over new product definitions and their market launch
  • Customer care, making regular visits to decision-makers of our customers to check customer satisfaction and develop and expand customer relationships (networking) as well as register customer needs
  • Realization of the annual order intake targets according to the strategic planning
  • Lead and control contract- and price negotiations (national and international)
  • Control payment receipts of customers and intervene in the event of payment defaults
  • Secure that all orders to customers correspond to the group standard according to profitability and frameworks
  • Define trainings measures and further development programs for key accounts
  • Motivate and lead the sales teams- talent management of direct reports and staff (recruiting, performance management and development)
  • Create sales reporting and supervise target figures compared to actual figures and working out corrective measures when deviating
  • Control and coordinating the internal national and international sales teams/ key accounts and checking target achievements on a regular basis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Business/Marketing,
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Sales/Marketing
  • Global customer experience
  • Significant experience in managing global customers/accounts
  • C-Level selling and strategic marketing skills
  • Minimum of 7 years of managerial experiences
  • Broad understanding of tools & processes for:

  • Proven sales and marketing knowledge and a solid background in automotive products
