Engineering Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

The Engineering Technician will be responsible for providing technical support for all aspects of secondary equipment. The Engineering Technician will assist in engineering activities in the area of molding, operations, assembly, to obtain optimum productivity and quality levels while complying with customer specifications.

The primary responsibilities of the Engineering Technician will be to improve productivity through optimization/mechanization of secondary equipment/robotics thus impacting the reduction of scrap and rework and improving job performance/efficiencies. In addition, the Engineering Technician will assist in achieving product target cost, improve efficiency, identifying possible production problems for existing products relating to manufacturing equipment.

The Engineering Technician will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and will be an active member of the launch team. The Engineering Technician will be required to support multiple projects within the plant supporting the maintenance, production and engineering departments.

Essential Job Functions:

· Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of electrical and electronic controls on all plant equipment.

· Assist in upgrading electrical equipment and electronic controls.

· Develop control wiring schematics/maintain files.

· PLC Programming.

· Review product improvement ideas and recommend action to implement them.

· Assist in determining spare parts requirements.

· Provide machine design (electrical) proposals.

· Maintain all electrical upgrades on software and in hard copy in an orderly manner.

· Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.
